My first distance healing was for my husband last week. In the middle of the night he got up to use the bathroom and said his stomach was bothering him and headed up stairs to lay down. I took some time to use distance Reiki healing for him. After just a few seconds I could "feel" a slight weight or pressure in the palms of my hands as if my hands were supporting his head. I continue doing the distant Reiki until the pressure was no longer there.

A couple of days later I did a distance Reiki healing for my best friend Mama Kelly (she had taken the Reiki classes with me at Womon Gathering). I again "felt" the sense of weight in my hands as if holding the weight of head in my palms. But this session was a bit a different then the session I did for my husband.

As I have been working with Reiki, or even just reading about it, the sense of my Guides surrounding me has been getting strong and stronger. There is a sense of joyful support and loving guidance that I "sense" around me. While doing the distance Reikie for Mama Kelly, as soon as I felt the "connection" (weight in my palms) I also instantly got the sense of second circle of guides surrounding her and a huge increase in the feeling of joy and a much stronger level of healing energy then I had felt before.

I quietly wondered about it, and the "reply" I felt (thought) was: her Reiki's Guides were happy because I was sending her energy that meant they could also work on sending her healing energy. They hadn't been able to because she wasn't practicing self-Reiki very often.

I will try to explain it the best I can as it was explained to me by the Guides:
By my friend allowing me to send her "Reiki" it allowed her guides to also channel energy to her because Spirit Guides must also have permission.* They can not interfere in one's life or do any kind of healing work without first being granted this permission. When doing self-Reiki, just by placing your hands on your body you are accepting "Reiki healing" energy from the universe and your guides can also then channel "healing" energy to you. Even if you are distracted and must keep your focus on the mundane world, whenever you need Reiki, placing your hands on your body the Reiki energy will flow and your guides will also be there to support you.

It was an interesting difference between the two sessions and I will be sure to take note when and if it happens again.

I had at first been hestitant to try distance Reiki because even though I have all three attunements, I am still very new to practicing Reiki. My guides assured me that it was ok and explained that the connection was easier for me to sense and feel so strongly with my hubby and Mama Kelly because we already know and trusted each other and we are already connected in many ways. They also assured me that I can send Reiki energy to any one, but it may take a bit more time before I am aware of the connection as vividly when I send it to others that I don't as well or at all, but the energy will be sent even if I don't "feel" it because the Guides are always there to bridge the connection so that it can reach who ever it is intended to.

When I saw Mama Kelly a few days later for our monthly overnight visit I mentioned that I had sent her some Reiki. She asked "Was it very early Friday morning?" I said yes, and told her about the experience and the message from her guides, "Do more self-Reiki."
