Tarot Entrecards

Posted by Lady Rose in

You knew it had to happen sooner or later, so here it is - a set of Major Arcana Tarot Entrecards. I hope you enjoy it.

What Tarot Card would you pick to represent you or your Entrecard blog? Would you change any of the one's below?

(Note: this was done with love, a little tongue in cheek, and all in good fun, please do not take it personally which Tarot Card your Entrecard Graphic was selected to represent. I chose some of my favorites bloggers first, the next step was to pair them with 22 different cards. You are all Emperors and Empresses to me. I only wish there were more Major Arcana Cards so I could have posted more of my favorite blogs. If you do not wish your Entrecard to be here, just let me know and I will remove it.)

Meanings of the cards are excerpts from Aecletic Tarot.

FOOL - Monkey Fables And Tales. Symbology - The Fool is the card of infinite possibilities, he has all he needs to do or be anything he wants. He is on his way to a brand new beginning. The Fool has no idea where he is going or what he is going to do. But that doesn't matter. For the Fool, the most important thing is to just go out and enjoy the world. Meaning in a Reading - The Fool ultimately stands for a new start. When it turns up the Querent might be about to make a move, not just to a new home, but new job, new life.

MAGICIAN(s) - Graham and Phirate. Symbology - the Magician is the male power of creation, creation by willpower and desire. In that ancient sense, it is the ability to make things just-so by speaking them aloud. Meaning in a Reading - When the Magician card appears, the Querent is likely to say: "Now there's an idea! Why didn't I think of that before?" Truth is, the Querent had that idea in his head all along. The Magician merely revealed it to him. But what will the Querent do with this idea?
(What will all the bloggers do with this magical gift of Entrecard that the Magicians Graham and Phirate have created? As of July 25, there are now over 15,000 active Entrecard blogs)

HIGH PRIESTESS - Diet Pulpit. Symbology - The High Priestess is the card of knowledge, instinctual, supernatural, secret knowledge. She holds scrolls of arcane information that she might, or might not reveal to you. If there is a card that symbolizes the tarot reader it is the High Priestess. A woman (or man!) of psychic powers, intuition and secret knowledge. Meaning in a Reading - The High Priestess reveals the secrets you need to know in order to make a decision about a problem; you're going to be learning some very odd things, very odd indeed.

EMPRESS - Modern Glam. Symbology - The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. Her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Meaning in a Reading - If the Querent wants their new romance, new career, new business, new creation to grow into all it can be they have to pay attention to it, baby it and be willing to let it take those first steps when it is ready. Most of all, they have to be patient.

EMPEROR - Life Fitness Club. Symbology - The Emperor is filled with enthusiasm and energy. He is direct, guileless and all too often irresistible. He is brave, bold, and in command. Meaning in a Reading - Being in control over your environment, your body, your temper, your instincts, your love life. This is not the time to give into the unconscious, not the time to let yourself be controlled by the wants and needs of others.

HEIROPHANT - Fantasy Baseball. Symbology - Hierophant is the one who wades in, quiets the panic, and offers good, practical advice. Meaning in a Reading - The Hierophant often represents a person, such as an old, favored teacher, therapist, counsellor, advisor, sponsor, or some who gives pragmatic advice. You know how to solve your problem, this card says; it is not easy, not a quick fix, but it is do-able. The solution is there, you've only to bring it down to Earth.

LOVERS - Fragile Heart. Symbology - Love is a force that makes you choose and decide for reasons you often can't understand; it makes you surrender control to a higher power. And that is what this card is all about. Finding something or someone who is so much a part of yourself, so perfectly attuned to you and you to them, that you cannot, dare not resist. No matter the difficulties, without it they will never be complete. Meaning in a Reading - Perfect communication (between head and heart), about finding something your soul requires. When this card appears, you will be given a "choice," you are being told to trust you instincts, to choose this career, challenge, person or thing you're so strongly drawn to, no matter how scary, how difficult, irrational or troublesome - without it, you will never be wholly you. It's sudden and unexpected, and it means a compete change in plans; but this is LOVE. True love. Go for it!

CHARIOT - The Roller Blog. Symbology - A complex card, it implies war, a struggle, and an eventual, hard-won victory; either over enemies, obstacles, nature, the beasts inside you, or to just get what you want. It also means a union of opposites, like the black and white steeds. They pull in different directions, but must be (and can be!) made to go together in one direction. Control is required over opposing emotions, wants, needs, people, or circumstances; to bring them together and give them a single direction, your direction. Meaning in a Reading -A new confidence, motivation or inspiration, which gets a stagnant situation moving again. Indicates loyalty, faith and motivation; a conviction that will lead to victory no matter the odds. But also a reminder that victory is just the start of things.

STRENGTH - Wisdom Hypnosis. Symbology - Strength is a card of courage and energy. It represents both the Lion's hot, roaring energy, and the Maiden's steadfast will. The innocent Maiden is unafraid, undaunted, and indomitable, she proves that inner strength is more powerful than raw physical strength. That forces can be controlled and used to score a victory. Meaning in a Reading - This card assures the Querent that they can control not only the situation, but themselves. The important message of the Strength card is not to give up. To have the courage to keep at it till you succeed and to have the faith and optimism that you will succeed.

HERMIT - Turnip. Symbology - The Hermit represents a wise, inspirational person, friend, teacher, therapist. This a person who can shine a light on things that were previously mysterious and confusing. He is alway gathering information, analyzing, making connections, and if anyone is going to stick a lantern into a dark place and take a good look at what's going on, it will be the Hermit. Meaning in a Reading - A time for connections and enlightenment, combined with a desire to just "be alone," and not wanting to be disturbed. Take time to be still, let the pieces fall into place, hear yourself think. After some time alone, you will see everything in a brand new light.

WHEEL OF FORTUNE - Superficial Gallery. Symbology - The Wheel of Fortune is all about big things, luck, change, and fortune. Almost always good fortune. Almost every definition of this card indicates abundance, happiness, elevation, or luck; a change that just happens, and brings with it great joy. Meaning in a Reading - A time of movement, change and evolution, but such changes will seem to come out of the blue, a stroke of good, unexpected fortune. Karmic payback for all the good things they've done in life - destiny or just good luck.

JUSTICE - Ben Barden Symbology - Justice is about cold, objective balance through reason or natural force. The message of this card is cutting out waste and make adjustments, do whatever is necessary to bring things back into balance. Meaning in a Reading - It is time to make adjustments, sometimes this won't be pleasant. Justice pares things down so that the scales end up equal. Do what is necessary, no matter how hard, how disagreeable, in order to gain, or re-gain equilibrium

HANGED MAN - Lee Doyle. Symbology - The Hanged Man is perhaps the most fascinating card in the deck. It reflects the story of Odin who offered himself as a sacrifice in order to gain knowledge. The Hanged Man is hanging between the mundane world and the spiritual world, able to see both. It is a dazzling moment, dreamlike yet crystal clear. Connections he never understood before are made, mysteries are revealed. But timeless as this moment of clarity seems, he realizes that it will not last. Very soon, he must right himself, and when he does, things will be different. He will have to act on what he's learned. Meaning in a Reading - This is a time of trial or meditation, selflessness, sacrifice, prophecy. The Querent stops resisting; instead he makes himself vulnerable, sacrifices his position or opposition, and in doing so, gains illumination.

DEATH - Evil Woobie. Symbology - A transformation, passage, or change. Sacrifice of the old, to make way for the new. Winter comes so that there can be a spring, and we can only appreciate what we have when we know that there is loss. Meaning in a Reading - This card signals a time of change. Time for something to end; but time also for something new to begin. The Querent may honestly be told that they may feel sad or empty, low, but that this will give him or her a way to rise again, like a phoenix from the ashes.

TEMPERANCE - è¿éspi20.com. Symbology - Mixing of fire and water, combining opposites, all you need are the right vessels and the right proportions. For any oppositions, fire and water, man and woman, thesis and anti-thesis, can be made to harmonize. It is only a lack of will and a disbelief in the possibility of unity that keeps opposites, opposite. Meaning in a Reading - It is also a reminder that a bow and arrow are useless apart, but together a formidable weapon. This card tells the Querent that they can and should put thesis and anti-thesis together to get the even more useful synthesis. But it will take time, care, patience and experimentation. And also, yes, moderation.

DEVIL - Sam Freedom's Internet Marketing Controversy Blog. Symbology - Represents Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. A card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. It can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive, a powerful man who is hard to resist. The message within the card is that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it. Completely tilted toward the masculine, it is a card that revels in extremity. Meaning in a Reading - This card explores some very frightening things, things we are taught to view as evil or shameful. At its absolute worst, this is either of being totally obsessed or addicted or the flip side of giving into impulse, cutting lose, going for the gold, climbing every mountain.

TOWER - Amy Oops. Symbology - The Tower, as Wang points out, stands for "false concepts and institutions that we take for real." It symbloizes a war between the structures of lies and the lightning flash of truth. It sometimes takes being shaken up and blinded by a shocking revelation to see a truth that one refuses to see. Or to bring down beliefs that are so well constructed. What's most important to remember is that the tearing down of this structure, however painful, makes room for something new to be built. Meaning in a Reading - A very rude awakening. Shaken up, torn down, blown asunder. Nothing built on a lie, on falsehoods, can remain standing for long. Better to tear it all down and rebuild on the truth. It is not going to be pleasant or painless or easy, but it will be for the best.

STAR - Daisy The Curly Cat. Symbology - In every deck The Star it is usually the most beautiful card. The Star is a card that looks to the future, of hope and healing. It suggests clarity of vision, spiritual insight. Meaning in a Reading - Peace and harmony, whatever hope, healing, or future will come to pass, a vision for tomorrow, not today. Unexpected help will be coming, with a guiding light to the future, but that help is only the first step, you must find your way to the future.

MOON - Stir the Cauldron. Symbology - The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. This is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. Meaning in a Reading - Querent is in for an emotional and mental rollercoaster ride. They can do two things, either wander through this crazy, lunatic landscape howling at the moon or go through it purposefully and thoughtfully.

SUN - Sahrym. Symbology - The Sun represents discoveries made fully conscious and wide awake. This is science and math, beautifully constructed music, carefully reasoned philosophy. It is a card of intellect, clarity of mind, and feelings of youthful energy. Meaning in a Reading - Young, healthy, new, fresh. The brain is working, things that were muddled come clear, everything falls into place, and everything seems to go your way.

JUDGMENT - Cats With Thumbs. Symbology - The Judgement asks for the resurrection to summon the past, forgive it, and let it go. There are wounds from the past that we never let heal, sins we've committed that we refuse to forgive, bad habits we haven't the courage to lose. Judgement advises us to finally face these, recognize that the past is past, and put them to rest, absolutely and irrevocably. Meaning in a Reading - Usually signals just a big change, one that involves leaving something old completely behind and stepping into something completely new. It's also about making a final decision, to take that plunge into the new, a new direction, a new life. To heal and renew

WORLD - Environmentastic. Symbology - The Fool turns to take that final step along his final path, and finds, to his bemusement that he is right back where he started, at the edge of that very same cliff he almost stepped over when he was young and too foolish to look where he was going. But now he sees his position very differently. He thought he could separate body and mind, learn all about one, then leave it to learn about the other. But in the end, it is all about self, mind and body, past and future, the individual, and the world. All one. As above, so below, and all opposites are each other. Meaning in a Reading - Everything finally coming together, successfully and at last.

Wow! Great post. Great descriptions. And of course, I like my card. ;)

July 26, 2008 12:19 AM

Glad you like it! :)

July 26, 2008 12:55 AM

Oh, my. I do offer good practical advice. That's so me.

July 26, 2008 1:11 AM

Also I figured with the big baseball bat of yours, you could definitely "wade in and quiet things down"

July 26, 2008 1:26 AM

Hi Lady Rose!
I first saw this post in your other blog and i feel HONORED to be given the "Death" card! I know exactly what it means and I see a wonderful beginning in a sad ending.

So appropriate! I just ended a phase in my life and am starting to establish a foothold in the new world i chose to be in.

July 26, 2008 1:56 AM

Hi EvilWoobie - I had a feeling you would "understand" this card, wishing you many blessings now and always in your new beginning.

July 26, 2008 3:11 AM

Very nice :) I know this has nothing to do with this but.. ah well.

Odin is one of my fave myth gods :) He rules.

I now understand things better :)

July 26, 2008 3:43 AM

Lee - I'm so glad you like it! Had no clue about Odin being a favorite of yours - spooky sometimes how the "tarot" just seem to know things.

July 26, 2008 4:00 AM

Very cool!

Thanks for including me in your listing. I like the concepts of motivation and inspiration - that is exactly what I am trying to do with my blog :)

July 26, 2008 4:45 AM

You're RollerKaty - the image of your ecard was so perfect (black and white cars great symbols for the Chariot that has a black and a white horse).

July 26, 2008 6:11 AM

Guess I'll know I've arrived if I ever get a card. :)

Nice work, enjoyed it.

July 26, 2008 6:30 AM

Oh my goodness, I feel very honored and happy to get to represent Star! I am smiling big inside. I am going to try my best to always live up to this, too. Even though sometimes I might still give the bitey. By mistake.

July 26, 2008 6:34 AM

Ken - you never know one day you may just get a card of your own :) I haven't even started the Minor Arcana cards

Daisy - you are mostly definitely a Star! and you bring smiles to many many people.

July 26, 2008 8:15 AM

I love this. Of course, it's hard to feel anything but wonderful when you are called the Strength card! This is so creative.

July 26, 2008 8:54 AM

Quite creative and refreshing.

Missing swords though.

July 26, 2008 10:14 AM

The Hanged Man: Right on! The Chariot: A nice, modern twist :) I'm disappointed in the cat symbolism. Still, I know how difficult this kind of project can be! I enjoy creating tarot cards (used to)... especially using non-traditional sources. Great job!

July 26, 2008 11:00 AM

What a great post!!! And my best friend Daisy is a *star! :)

July 26, 2008 11:57 AM

This was a brilliant post Lady Rose. I'm honoured to have been interpreted! It's like you've known me my whole life! You = genius!

July 26, 2008 12:05 PM

hi lady rose! i've read a lot of posts about your readings, i must say, i really got curious... would you be willing to read mine?

thanks and have a great weekend ;)

July 26, 2008 2:45 PM

Very interesting read. Enjoyed much! :)

You have been given the Brilliante Weblog Award. You can read more about it at http://onthebricks.blogspot.com/

Thanks and you are under no obligation if you wish not to.

July 26, 2008 2:52 PM

I'm so honored, Lady Rose and believe you have chosen wisely and well with all your picks, not just me.

Tarot is something I know very little about, but what you say about the card you chose for me certainly fits. I am a Gemini, and do know that I have both a logical and illogical side that co-habit quite well with each other in me.

Thank you for including me in the Entrecard Tarot deck!

One of the coolest ideas for a post I've seen in a long time. Rock on, sister! :)

July 26, 2008 7:03 PM

So.... where does coffee fit into tarot??? Very fun! Blessed be! Christina
CoffeeCoffeeCoffee

July 26, 2008 10:05 PM

Ha! That was awesome. You really have a lot of their blog personalities right on.

July 26, 2008 10:11 PM

*blushing* I'm so glad everyone enjoyed the Entrecard Tarot.

Thank you Chilly for the awesome award - I'll be sure to post about it this week.

Coffee - the divine bean - it's the essential beverage of the Tarot. :)

For those of you who read this, I will let you in a little secret - already in the works is a Part II for this post, so you may want to keep an eye out for which Entrecard Blogs will be the Pages, Knights, Queens, and Kings of four suits of the Minor Arcana (Cups, Pentacles, Swords, and Wands), but that is for another moon.

Bright blessings everyone, Lady Rose

July 27, 2008 5:37 AM

please please please giveme the death card :)

July 27, 2008 6:48 AM

***waves a magic wand over techsta head*** !poof! you're now the death card :)

July 27, 2008 6:53 PM

My real name means 'Queen' in Latin. :D Can I have the queen card? heheehe

July 27, 2008 9:56 PM

I could definitely see you as the Queen of Cups (cups in general represent love and the emotions).

I probably won't "officiallY' repeat any of the blogs from this post that are already Major Arcana.

July 28, 2008 3:36 AM

Very enjoyable read. You touched upon all of my favorite authors. Some of your reads are a bit funny if you actually know the people. People who may appear cold are acutally friendly, those who appear friendly are incredibly arrogant, and those wise completely nuts.

July 28, 2008 10:27 PM

I posted my own choices here:

http://mindrec.org/score/t27-Tarot-Entrecards.html

July 29, 2008 1:51 AM

Hi Turnip and Brett - it was a lot of fun putting the list together and matching the tarot card with the blog or "blogger" behind the blog (with a bit of tongue in cheek).

July 29, 2008 3:42 AM

Brett - wasn't sure which cat you were referring to...
but for Daisy - I made her the Star because she is so "famous" she is a blogging "star" and so many people love her blog

Cats without Thumbs - looks like he's "judging" the world, and also it's a blog I know well and is recognized from the forums also.

July 29, 2008 3:48 AM

That's a very interesting post! My blog... hmmm... The Moon for both its meaning and because I'm a moonchild. High Priestess would be nice too. The Fool maybe... Interesting, you got me thinking!

July 29, 2008 2:44 PM

All great cards Tink, perhaps they all suit you as they reflect different parts of who you are.

July 29, 2008 4:40 PM

Bravo! Great post! You have a wonderful creative talent! And, btw, thanks for the mention and the link. ;)

July 30, 2008 12:50 AM

aaaaw Sam, you sweet talking devil, you are making me blush hehehe

July 30, 2008 12:03 PM

Eventhough I didn't get a card, this was amazing......I LOVE tarot, have some books on it, and since I don't consider my blog one of the big dogs like the ones you posted, I'll settle for a place in the minors. I picked for my site and niche:

Two of Pentacles: Change
Able to cope with change. I keep two or more things going at once rather than focus on one. Surrounded by rapid and constant change and instability. Cannot depend on anything to stay the same for too long.

This goes good with my site because of the actual job is about changing my thoughts, changing and adapting to each clients needs and you never know how long it will last with each client.

July 31, 2008 10:59 PM

And pentacles is good for money for too - so that works! :)

August 1, 2008 3:48 AM

very cute!

August 1, 2008 7:56 AM

Really a brilliant idea Lady Rose. Entrecard Tarot cards awesome! You are so creative.
